The Mist
Rating:

This film is based on the novel of one of the best horror masterminds, Stephen King. Now, if you are easily offended, queasy or gets easily scared, this film is not for you. The Mist is quite disturbing, yet, the movie was well made.
The film was set it Maine, where a local painter, David Drayton (Thomas Jane) lived with his wife and son. It started with a freak storm that brought this cloud of mist that covered the whole town, well, it could’ve covered the whole world, for all we know. It turns out, there is something in the mist that kills anyone on its path.
Most of the scenes took place inside the grocery store, where a lot of locals were trapped because of the the mist. For a sci-fi thriller, this film showcased more of the human side of the story. Even if the creatures that invaded the town were unbelievable, the characters that were portrayed showed real human emotions, which will make the viewers connect to the story.
As for the ending, well, it is not what you would expect. As I debate with the one who I went to the movie with, he said, he would never give up on life for anything; which I think is right. But, with everything that the characters have gone through, I can see why the ending is like that.
