For the past months, I have visited a handful of blogs, while some of them I was able to enjoy, most just led me to click on the x-mark to close the Firefox tab. I decided to make a short list about my website pet peeves.
BABY PINK AND PIXELLED
I believe that there are so many other color schemes to choose from, but why are there so many pink blogs with a pixelled cartoon image? I noticed this among local bloggers, and it actually annoys me how they can recreate their own pink theme but would still look the same as the next one. Be original! If you can’t make your own theme, download something that has a shade besides pink!
BILINGUAL POSTS
Fine, you can speak more than one language, and yes, it is your blog and you can write whatever you want, however you want it, but, think about your visitors. If you start typing with language number 1, then continue with language number 1, and finish it with language number 1.
BORING TOPICS
While it is OK to share how your day went, it would be great if you would elaborate on why it was OK, rather than telling us how you walked toward the park and bought ice cream, then you sat on the bench and ate the ice cream. If you can do away with a how your day went type of post, start writing about interesting topics, or maybe post some pictures and tell us more about it. If you’re lost, you can find your way again and discover 111 Instant Blog Post Ideas.
FONTS
While there are so many fonts out there, choosing a readable typeface is your best bet to luring more readership. While you’re at it, why not use a bigger font size? Not all of us can read a 7pt font size. Make sure that the color of the font is not near the color of the background.
ANNOYING MUSIC
Most users, like me, listen to music while surfing the net. It irks me when I click on a website and suddenly realize that my audio player is not playing 2 songs at the same time. Take into consideration people like me, and don’t auto play your music. If we want to listen to your music, we would gladly click on the play button.
NAVIGATION
Do you want your visitors to have a hard time navigating your website? Name your menus properly, and place your main navigation on the most visible part of your website.
JAVA SCRIPT
Please don’t use a java script that only welcomes me to your website. It is annoying, especially when you have to let me click 2 more to tell me to enjoy and thank me for visiting your websites.
sTiCkY cApS
Type properly. Always. Period.
BAD GRAMMAR
I know, we’re all not perfect. A mistake or two is fine, but mistakes from start to finish just gives me a headache! Brush up on your English, or whatever language you are using that I can understand.
POOR SPELLING SKILLS
If you are using Firefox, I am pretty sure that you are aware that an red underline appears when the spelling of the word you typed is incorrect, so why not make use of it? If you are not using Firefox and you are unsure of the spelling of a word, try using a dictionary, or maybe try using the virtual one.
Now, that I’ve got this out of my chest, I can sleep now.
Haha, excellent post! I totally agree with you!
Keep up the good work!

Dog Training’s last blog post..Dog Training Supplies And Equipment Guide
Haha, great post!
My biggest peeve is that all teenagers seem to love using this “TINY itty bitty font” + lots of uneeded periods and x’s after every word.
Like…
.xMorning Aurora Sunshine Cakesx.
And then some bad poetry.
Haha!
Hey! I happen to like pink. The more pink the better.
The very crux of your writing while sounding agreeable at first, did not really settle well with me after some time. Somewhere within the paragraphs you actually were able to make me a believer unfortunately only for a short while. I still have a problem with your jumps in logic and you would do well to fill in all those gaps. If you can accomplish that, I could undoubtedly end up being fascinated.
