Box.net: store here, access anywhere
My friend works for box.net and he has been trying to recruit me to work under him. Basically, box.net is an online file storage. This is very useful especially if you don’t have enough space left on your hard drive. There are different types of accounts that you can sign up for, but I chose to get a free box.net account, which allows me to upload up to 1GB of files, 10GB bandwidth, and a 10mb file size limit. You can also opt for Individual account at $7.95/monthly for 5GB storage. You can also choose the Business account which is $19.95/monthly for 15GB file storage.
You can choose to keep your files private, or you can share them with your family and friends. You can also choose to unshare the files any time you want. Another cool feature of box.net is that you add a widget on your blog to show a slide of pictures, play mp3 music and stream .flv videos. The links on the widgets are random and can’t be changed to prevent bots from indexing them, which is a good practice for any online file storage. There may be files on your personal account that shouldn’t be seen or accessed by anyone else.
Now, if you want an extra space which is private and secure, sign up for a box.net account.
